Samyang Round Square announced on the 26th that it has carried out a regular executive appointment recognizing the contributions of key contributors under the achievements of record-breaking performance and the Buldak brand’s annual sales reaching 1 trillion won, focusing on the group’s sustainable growth and strengthening future competitiveness.

This appointment is characterized by focusing on consolidating the capabilities of key talents based on a performance-oriented approach that corresponds to excellent achievements and contributions. In particular, it emphasizes appointing talents who led the success of the Buldak brand, which has established itself as a global mega brand, and strengthening leadership that can support global market expansion and the group’s mid- to long-term competitiveness.


Kim Dong-chan, CEO of Samyang Foods, was promoted from Executive Director to Vice President. This is a second promotion just one year after being promoted from Managing Director to Executive Director. Since his appointment as CEO of Samyang Foods last year, he has actively strengthened quality to secure global competitiveness, efficiently responded to export volumes, and significantly led the company’s best performance since its founding. Next year, under a stronger growth drive, he plans to stably complete the Miryang Plant 2 and solidify the growth foundation by expanding global production capabilities.


Kim Ju-young, head of Samyang China Corporation, was promoted to Executive Director. He was recognized for continuously breaking record sales by implementing various strategies such as localization marketing, new product launches, and diversification of sales channels targeting the Chinese market, the largest export country. Going forward, Kim Ju-young is expected to enhance overall business efficiency and lead future competitiveness by leveraging differentiated brand power in the Chinese market.


There are three promotions to Managing Director. First, Shin Yong-sik, head of Samyang America Corporation, contributed significantly to strengthening the group’s mid- to long-term competitiveness by leading high sales growth in the Americas region. Lee Byung-hoon, director of the Samyang Foods Food Research Institute, laid the foundation for global market penetration by developing global target new products and improving quality based on differentiated technology. Choi Eui-ri, head of the Samyang Round Square Brand Strategy Office, was recognized for leading the group’s rebranding and forming a unique brand identity centered on fandom through global Buldak marketing.


In addition, ▲ Kim Kyung-dong, CEO of Samyang Square Pack ▲ Kim Yong-ho, head of Samyang Foods Distribution and Sales Division ▲ Kim Jin-gong, head of Samyang Foods AMEA Sales Division ▲ Oh Seung-yong, head of Samyang Foods Miryang Plant ▲ Won Ju-yeon, team leader of Samyang Foods Soup Team 1, were newly appointed as Deputy Managing Directors. They were recognized respectively for strengthening food packaging capabilities, improving domestic sales efficiency, expanding global sales networks, stabilizing Miryang Plant 1, and research and development of the Buldak brand.


A Samyang Round Square official said, “This regular executive appointment focused on recognizing the excellent achievements and contributions of 2024, which recorded the best performance ever, while securing growth momentum to strengthen future competitiveness.” He added, “In 2025, we plan to strengthen the group’s core competencies, including the Buldak brand, which has established itself as a global mega brand, and carry out multidimensional activities targeting the global market.”
