Presenting 'The Nutcracker' at Seocho Culture and Arts Center
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold a year-end concert at 4 p.m. on the 14th of next month at the Seocho Cultural and Arts Center.
This performance is the last winter festival among Seocho-gu's seasonal and themed festivals, presenting the performance of "The Nutcracker" under the theme of "Seocho's Most Special Christmas Gift for Children." The performance will last a total of 110 minutes including an intermission and will be staged across four sets: the Silver House mansion's party hall, Clara's living room, the Land of Snow, and the Land of Sweets.
The Wise Ballet Company, performing this time, is a group recognized in the Korean ballet scene for its creative artistry and high stage quality. "The Nutcracker" is one of Wise Ballet Company's representative works. Traditional classical ballet, dances from various countries performed by the candy dolls, and the splendid Waltz of the Flowers will offer the audience a magical Christmas moment.
Tickets can be reserved through the integrated reservation system on the Seocho-gu Office website. Priority booking for Seocho residents will begin at 9 a.m. on the 2nd of next month, and general booking will open at 10 a.m. on the 3rd.
Meanwhile, Seocho-gu holds various festivals by season and theme. In spring, the "Spring Night Classical Festival," in summer, the "Seocho Music and Art Festival," in autumn, Seocho's representative festival, the "Seoripul Festival," were held, and in winter, the year-end will be beautifully decorated with the "Christmas in Seocho" performance.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "With this special winter year-end performance, the seasonal and themed festivals that started in spring this year will conclude," adding, "Next year, we will create a cultural and artistic city Seocho where the fragrance of culture flows throughout all four seasons with diverse performances."
