Reusable Container Smart Cleaning Center and Electric Two-Wheeler Infrastructure Development
Baedal Minjok is joining hands with local governments to contribute to the creation of sustainable smart cities. Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced on the 26th that they have signed business agreements with Cheonan City in Chungcheongnam-do and Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi-do for smart city development projects, and will work with local governments to build eco-friendly solutions to respond to the climate crisis.
The smart city development project, led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is a national project where local governments and private companies collaborate to find and create innovative services tailored to regional characteristics to solve various problems in existing cities. Depending on the project type, it is divided into ▲Hub type (developing and demonstrating comprehensive solutions to urban problems to create hubs that lead the spread of smart cities) and ▲Specialized type (creating cities concentrated with specialized solutions to secure resilience against environmental changes such as the climate crisis and regional extinction).
On the 25th, Woowa Brothers signed a business agreement on the implementation of the 'Cheonan City Hub-type Smart City Development Project' at Cheonan Town Hall in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungnam Province, with consortium officials including Park Sang-don, Mayor of Cheonan (eighth from the left), and Ham Yoon-sik, Vice President of Woowa Brothers (third from the left) in attendance. Woowa Brothers participated as one of the private companies in the consortiums promoted by Cheonan City (Hub type) and Gwangmyeong City (Specialized type), respectively. In June, both consortiums were selected in the smart city development project competition, enabling the implementation of projects to create smart cities with eco-friendly delivery value chains introduced in these local governments.
Woowa Brothers is focusing on installing a reusable container smart washing center equipped with automated equipment and technology, as well as a Battery Swap Station (BSS) in collaboration with Cheonan City. With Gwangmyeong City, they are building electric two-wheeler infrastructure and expanding the reusable container delivery service project within Gwangmyeong City, which started in August.
Vice President Ham Yoon-sik said, “The smart cities that Baemin and local governments will create together are expected to greatly contribute to spreading an eco-friendly delivery culture and advancing toward an environmentally friendly society that actively responds to the climate crisis. We will continue to cooperate with various stakeholders to establish a sustainable delivery industry ecosystem.”
