Kia announced that it will begin accepting orders for the high-performance electric vehicle 'The New EV6 GT' starting from the 26th.
Kia enhanced the combined maximum output of the front and rear motors of the EV6 GT to 448 kW (609 horsepower) and maximum torque to 740 Nm (75.5 kgf·m). Specialized features that add high-performance appeal, such as Launch Control and Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), have been newly applied.
In particular, when Launch Control is activated, the combined maximum output of the front and rear motors of the EV6 GT increases to 478 kW (650 horsepower), and maximum torque rises to 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m). It achieves a zero-to-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.5 seconds.
Additionally, The New EV6 GT is equipped with an 84 kWh 4th-generation high-voltage battery, securing a driving range of 355 km on a single charge. Despite the increased battery capacity, the fast charging speed has been improved so that it can charge from 10% to 80% within 18 minutes using the existing 350 kW-class charger.
Furthermore, the EV6 GT comes standard with Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) and an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD), which stably control the vehicle body behavior during dynamic driving situations. The large-capacity front and rear disc brakes deliver top-level braking performance along with regenerative braking that provides a maximum deceleration force of 0.6g.
Kia has enhanced the seat comfort of the EV6 GT and added numerous latest convenience and infotainment features to improve its marketability.
Kia added an 8-way power seat function to the EV6 GT exclusive suede sports bucket seats, in addition to the existing first-row heating and ventilation functions. The driver's seat is equipped with a driver posture memory system and Easy Access function, allowing multiple drivers to easily set the optimal driving position.
Moreover, a variety of advanced features are provided as standard, including ‘Walk Away Lock’ which automatically locks the doors when leaving the vehicle, augmented reality navigation, Kia Digital Key 2, Built-in Cam 2, and ‘Reverse-linked Automatic Downward Outside Mirror’ which automatically tilts the outside mirrors downward when reversing.
Kia has significantly enhanced the marketability of The New EV6 GT while freezing the sales price. The sales price of the EV6 GT is 72.2 million KRW after eco-friendly vehicle tax benefits, and considering government and local subsidies, the actual purchase price is further reduced.
