Introduction to Submarine Cable Production Factory and Construction Capabilities
Daehan Electric Wire announced on the 26th that it will participate in the 'APAC Wind Energy Summit 2024' held in Songdo, Incheon, until the 28th.
The 'APAC Wind Energy Summit' is the first international wind power event held in Korea, jointly hosted by the Korea Wind Energy Industry Association (KWEIA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). This year, under the theme "The Era of Renewable Energy Led by Asia-Pacific," domestic and international companies and related organizations gather to discuss the challenges faced by the wind energy industry and ways to accelerate the dissemination of wind power in the Asia-Pacific region.

At this exhibition, Daehan Electric Wire will focus on showcasing its turnkey competitiveness in submarine cables. It will introduce the plans for the first submarine cable plant, currently undergoing phase 2 construction, and the second submarine cable plant recently confirmed at the Godeok Pier in Dangjin. Additionally, a model of 'Pharos,' the only CLV laying vessel for offshore wind power in Korea, will be displayed. Through this, the company emphasizes its capability to perform the entire value chain of submarine cables, from design, production, transportation, construction, to maintenance.
Along with this, Daehan Electric Wire plans to introduce its track record of supplying submarine cables to domestic and international projects since 2009, as well as the largest cable production cluster to be established in the Godeok area of Dangjin. The company’s strategy is to concentrate all domestic production facilities?including cable plants, solution plants, and submarine cable plants 1 and 2?in the Godeok area of Dangjin to maximize synergy.
During the exhibition, Vice Chairman Song Jong-min will visit the exhibition hall with executives and employees from the submarine business division and the technology research institute to strengthen partnerships by interacting with global power generation company representatives.
Vice Chairman Song said, "It is very meaningful to showcase Daehan Electric Wire’s turnkey competitiveness in submarine cables to customers in the Asia-Pacific region, which leads the global wind market," adding, "By strengthening capabilities in the submarine cable field, we will contribute not only to expanding the supply chain of the domestic offshore wind power industry but also to enhancing national competitiveness."
