Yuhan Health Life Unveils Braille Label Packaging for the Visually Impaired

Yuhan Health & Life, a premium health and life solutions company, announced the launch of braille label packaging for the visually impaired in celebration of 'Hangeul Braille Day.'

Although braille labeling has been mandated for certain pharmaceutical products since July, braille labeling is not currently required under the existing cosmetics container regulations for everyday cosmetics. As a result, visually impaired individuals face limited options when selecting cosmetics.

To improve product accessibility and ease of use for the visually impaired, Yuhan Health & Life is implementing braille label packaging on all products of its clean beauty brand 'Hebua,' including ▲Bimilcho Hemp Stem Calming Toner Pad, ▲Bimilcho Hemp Stem Calming Serum, and ▲Bimilcho Hemp Stem Calming Cream. This braille packaging initiative reflects ideas actively gathered during last year's ESG workshop involving all Yuhan Health & Life employees, making it especially meaningful.

The brand 'Hebua,' introduced as the first with braille packaging, is a fast skin-soothing line that utilizes mature hemp (HEMP) stems, roots, and seeds. It is a clean beauty brand that primarily uses the independently developed 'HebuaRex®' ingredient, created after three years of research at Yuhan Health & Life’s Natural Products Research Institute. The sustainable natural ingredient blend developed from eco-friendly hemp crops, along with packaging designed for easy separation and disposal, exemplifies Yuhan Health & Life’s ESG management philosophy.

A Yuhan Health & Life representative stated, “Introducing braille label packaging on all Hebua brand products began with the hope that all customers, regardless of disability, can conveniently use our products. We continuously seek ways to benefit the global environment and foster coexistence with all members of our local community from the product development stage. We plan to carry out various campaigns for an inclusive society, such as expanding braille packaging, and we ask for your continued interest.”

Meanwhile, Yuhan Health & Life has also contributed to job creation for the disabled by employing visually impaired massage therapists as 'Health Keepers,' supporting employment opportunities for the visually impaired every year.
