Provided by Yongsan District.

The purpose of this agreement is to establish a self-support work project site called "Museum Cafe Masil" on the first floor of the Yongsan History Museum to provide job opportunities as well as employment and entrepreneurship education for vulnerable self-support work participants.

Since July, the district has been discussing the operation plan for the self-support work project space with related organizations, and as a result, it was able to use the space required for cafe operation free of charge for two years.

The main contents of the agreement include free use of the cafe space (44.21㎡) for two years and matters related to overall cafe operation. Accordingly, HDC Hyundai Development Company will lease the cafe space on the first floor of the Yongsan History Museum free of charge for two years, and Yongsan-gu will operate the cafe through the Yongsan Regional Self-Support Center, which is privately commissioned. Three self-support workers will work at the cafe and receive technical training to become experts such as baristas and pastry chefs.

District Mayor Park Hee-young said, "This agreement will serve as an excellent business model of public-private cooperation to strengthen the independence and self-support of low-income residents," adding, "We will do our best to provide quality jobs for low-income residents and support employment and entrepreneurship preparation."

Meanwhile, the Yongsan Regional Self-Support Center operates 17 self-support project groups, including Our Neighborhood Laundry, The Masil Cafe, and Our Neighborhood Convenience Store, to provide job opportunities and employment and entrepreneurship education for low-income residents.
