US Official: "Israel and Hezbollah Agree on Ceasefire Negotiations" Yonhap News

On the 25th (local time), the U.S. media outlet Axios reported this, citing a senior U.S. official.

The official stated, "I believe an agreement has been reached," and added, "The Israeli Security Cabinet is expected to approve this agreement on Tuesday (the 26th)."

However, uncertainties remain regarding the conclusion of the ceasefire negotiations. The official said, "We are at the goal line but have not crossed it yet," and added, "Approval from the Israeli Cabinet is required, and until then, something could go wrong."

In addition to the remarks from this official, the media reported that four U.S. and Israeli officials said the negotiations are in the final stages.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah aims for both sides to halt hostile actions for 60 days, thereby establishing a foundation for a lasting ceasefire. It is also reported to include the activities of a U.S.-led monitoring committee to oversee the implementation and any violations by both parties.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has in principle approved a plan to establish a ceasefire with Hezbollah. However, the media noted that the Israeli government has concerns about some parts of the ceasefire plan, and other issues need to be resolved before the negotiations can be finalized.
