Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyeong-deok) announced on the 25th that it signed a business agreement with the Dongducheon City Federation of Disabled Persons' Organizations on the 22nd to promote the "2024 Welfare Job Project for the Disabled."

The agreement covers all aspects of the project, including ▲recruitment of placement institutions for welfare jobs for the disabled in 2025 ▲selection of participants ▲job placement ▲service management ▲salary payment.

The city designated the Dongducheon City Federation of Disabled Persons' Organizations as the project implementing agency after a review by the Private Implementing Agency Designation Deliberation Committee on the 12th of last month.

The job project for the disabled is a government-subsidized project that has been in operation since 2007 under Article 21 of the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities. It has been promoted in three types: full-time, part-time, and welfare jobs, and through this agreement, the welfare job project will be carried out by a private organization.

Mayor Park Hyeong-deok of Dongducheon City said, "To expand social participation of persons with disabilities who face difficulties in employment, it is necessary to diversify job types considering the types and characteristics of disabilities," adding, "We will continue to expand job opportunities so that more persons with disabilities can participate in the job project."
