Responses to Small Everyday Changes Such as Abstaining from Alcohol and Smoking
With the New Year just about a month away, 4 out of 10 people stated that they plan to lose weight and manage their health before the year ends.
On the 25th, local lifestyle application Danggeun announced that a survey conducted from the 12th to the 17th on the 'Neighborhood Life' bulletin board, under the theme 'Things to definitely do before 2024 ends,' revealed that 39.5% of respondents chose 'exercise, health management, and diet' as their top priority.
Danggeun reported that posts with specific plans such as "I aim to walk two hours a day" and "I will work out diligently for a month and a half" are frequently being shared on the bulletin board, reflecting the current atmosphere.
Next, 26.1% of respondents selected 'expressing gratitude and love in daily life' as a goal they want to achieve this year. Respondents specifically shared year-end resolutions like "say 'I love you' at least three times" and "live each day with more gratitude."
The third most popular goal was 'self-development' (24.5%). Answers included plans to complete tasks such as obtaining certifications, studying foreign languages, and writing diaries by the end of the year.
Influenced by the 'Text Hip' trend?where reading is considered stylish?especially among Generation Z (those born in the mid-to-late 1990s to early 2000s), many respondents set reading goals. They expressed determination to cultivate reading habits with commitments like "read 50 pages daily" and "finish books I started."
Additionally, Danggeun shared that stories promising small changes in daily life continued, including domestic travel, quitting alcohol and smoking, obtaining a driver's license, as well as ▲living happily even for a day ▲starting a new hobby ▲recovering self-esteem.
A Danggeun representative stated, "A warm atmosphere is forming where neighbors share goals they want to achieve during the remaining year-end period and encourage each other," adding, "We will continue to strive to make honest and heartfelt stories from neighbors more active through the Neighborhood Life bulletin board."
