‘MIDAS IT,’ the world’s number one company in construction engineering software, has unveiled a new technology that will change the paradigm of safety management at construction sites. The protagonist is the 'Smart Underground Safety Management System,' scheduled for release in the first half of next year.
MIDAS IT first revealed this system at the '2024 Smart Construction Expo,' held from November 20 to 22 at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Ilsan. The system showcased at this exhibition was evaluated as a culmination of advanced technology in line with the era of smart construction.
The core of this system is its proactive prevention function through real-time monitoring of measurement data and engineering analysis. When measurement data at excavation sites exceed management standards, the GeoXD program can predict the stability of the remaining excavation stages in advance. Notably, it allows not only stability evaluation but also design review, enabling alternative construction methods to be suggested if problems arise.
The system also provides automated safety management functions. It monitors measurement data from the site in real time and immediately sends alert messages to site personnel in case of dangerous situations. In particular, the function that automatically generates monthly measurement reports greatly improves work efficiency.
The response from industry insiders who visited the exhibition was very positive. It was praised as a “special value that only MIDAS IT, the only domestic software developer for geotechnical engineering, can provide.” Especially, it received acclaim as “the first solution to make judgments when risks are detected at actual excavation sites,” and many construction companies expressed their intention to consider pilot application at their own construction sites.
