Uijeongbu-si Supports Throwable Fire Extinguishing Equipment for Fire-Vulnerable Households in Ppaebeol Village

The Urban Regeneration Support Center of Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 25th that it provided throwable fire extinguishing equipment to fire-vulnerable households in Ppaebeol Village, Gosan-dong on the 21st.

Ppaebeol Village (around 511-8, Gosan-dong) was selected for the 2022 Urban Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project (hereinafter referred to as the Saetteul Village Project) organized by the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, and is currently undergoing an urban regeneration project.

The fire extinguishing equipment was provided to about 80 households, community self-governing facilities, and senior centers after training on safe usage. For elderly households, executives of the Ppaebeol Village Residents' Council personally visited to install the equipment.

The throwable fire extinguishing equipment is designed to be thrown at the ignition point to respond to initial fires, and it has the advantage of being easily accessible to fire-vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children.

Center Director Choi So-young said, “Residents showed a positive response to the usefulness of the throwable fire extinguishers, and this has become an opportunity to strengthen fire safety in Ppaebeol Village.”
