Reunion Oasis Returns to Korea After 16 Years... Concert Scheduled for October 21 Next Year
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan: "A Global Performance Hub City... We Will Widely Promote Goyang City's Charm Through Its Urban Brand"
Following Kanye West and Coldplay, Oasis Joins... Triple Hit of Unprecedented Concerts in Korea
A new chapter is being written at Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province. Oasis, the legendary Britpop band that announced their reunion after 15 years, will take the stage here. Goyang Sports Complex, listed on the 'Oasis Live ‘25' World Tour, now stands shoulder to shoulder with iconic venues representing 10 countries, including Wembley Stadium in London, Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, and Tokyo Dome in Japan.
This year, numerous global artists have visited Goyang Sports Complex. In August, Kanye West held his first concert in Korea in 14 years, delivering a surprise live performance that received explosive reactions. Following that, in October, ENHYPEN and SEVENTEEN kicked off their world tours here, each drawing tens of thousands of fans and contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
In April next year, the music of the world-renowned rock band Coldplay will resonate at the same venue. Thanks to the city’s proactive efforts to attract the event, the Coldplay concert has been scheduled for an unprecedented six shows in the history of Korean concerts.
Additionally, Oasis, revived from history, will visit Korea for the first time in 16 years and perform on the stage of Goyang Sports Complex. The concert will be held on October 21, 2025, at 8 p.m., and tickets will be exclusively sold through Interpark Ticket, the official ticketing platform, starting at midnight on the 29th. Prior to that, fan club pre-sales will begin at midnight on the 28th.
With a capacity of over 40,000, Goyang Sports Complex offers excellent accessibility for both overseas artists and audiences, featuring convenient transportation options such as Subway Line 3 and the GTX-A line scheduled to open within the year. Moreover, since there is no regular league using this as a home stadium, it has the advantage of securing rental dates in advance, establishing itself as a new sanctuary for stadium concerts.
The large-scale concert attraction and discovery project, which Goyang City has piloted, has achieved remarkable results from its first year of implementation.
While planning this project, the city has been inspecting concert infrastructure and gathering industry opinions since last year. Then, in January, after holding a briefing session for the Goyang Sports Complex rental public offering and confirming demand, the city launched active attraction efforts.

In September, the city signed a business agreement with Live Nation Korea, a global concert promoter, to promote mutual growth in the cultural and artistic performance sector. According to the agreement, the city will cooperate in hosting large-scale concerts such as world-class star tours and provide administrative conveniences like venue rental. It also promised to receive support for investment and consultation to improve concert infrastructure.
Accordingly, Live Nation Korea began large-scale facility improvements at Goyang Sports Complex in October, including installing noise reduction devices and strengthening spectator safety routes, with plans to proceed in phases until 2025.
Goyang City will continue to activate concert infrastructure by hosting the ‘Goyang Cultural Arts Policy Forum’.
This year’s forum will be held on December 5 at 4 p.m. in the press room of Goyang Sports Complex. The forum will focus on ‘Goyang City’s New Challenge Toward Becoming a Global Performance Hub City,’ reviewing the achievements of the large-scale concert attraction and discovery project piloted this year and discussing directions for improvement with experts from various fields.
Furthermore, the city will announce the rental direction for Goyang Sports Complex in 2025 and gather opinions from citizens and experts to refine the project model.
Building on these efforts, Goyang Sports Complex plans to further enhance its strengths in facilities and environment, showcase diverse cultural and artistic performance content, and solidify its reputation as a world-class venue.
Lee Dong-hwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, said, “As Goyang Sports Complex emerges as a new mecca for concerts in Korea, it is attracting the attention of music fans worldwide. We will firmly establish its status as a global performance hub city and widely promote the city brand that embodies the charm of Goyang.”
