President Yoon's Approval Rises Among Yeongnam and Conservative Groups
People Power Party 30.3%, Democratic Party 44.9%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration's performance has risen for the second consecutive week, recovering to the mid-20% range. This is the first time in six weeks that President Yoon's approval rating has reached the mid-20% range.
According to a public opinion poll released on the 25th by Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 18th to the 22nd targeting 2,508 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with 97% mobile and 3% landline using an automated response method, at a 95% confidence level with a margin of error of ±2.0 percentage points, and a response rate of 3.2%), President Yoon's approval rating for the third week of November was 25.7%, up 2.0 percentage points from the previous week (second week of November). Negative evaluations dropped by 2.7 percentage points to 70.3%.
The judicial risks faced by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, and major issues such as President Yoon's participation in the G20 summit are interpreted to have influenced public opinion. Approval ratings rose in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (24.4% → 30.1%, a 5.7 percentage point increase), as well as in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (33.3% → 37.4%, a 4.1 percentage point increase). Support also increased among conservatives (41.1% → 46.4%, 5.3 percentage points).
In the party support survey (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 21st to the 22nd targeting 1,003 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with 97% mobile and 3% landline using an automated response method, at a 95% confidence level with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points, and a response rate of 2.9%), the Democratic Party's support rate fell by 2.6 percentage points to 44.9%, while the People Power Party dropped by 1.3 percentage points to 30.3%. The Innovation Party rose by 2.2 percentage points to 7.8%, and the Reform Party decreased by 0.4 percentage points to 3.2%.
