Guro-gu Prepares 983.6 Billion Won Budget for Next Year... 44.8 Billion Won Increase

4.8% Increase Compared to This Year, Health Sector Sees Largest Growth at 22.5%

Guro-gu has drafted its budget for the next year at a total scale of 983.6 billion KRW, which is a 4.8% increase compared to this year.


The general account is 975.3 billion KRW, an increase of 45.3 billion KRW (4.9%) from the previous year, while the special account is 8.3 billion KRW, a decrease of 0.5 billion KRW (5.9%).


Among the general account revenue budget for next year, local tax revenue increased by 4.9 billion KRW compared to the previous year, but local allocation tax decreased by 3 billion KRW, resulting in a slight increase in the revenue budget compared to the previous year.


Due to the government's welfare projects to support vulnerable groups and socially disadvantaged people, national subsidies increased by 22.6 billion KRW, and city subsidies increased by 12.8 billion KRW.

By major sectors, the budget was allocated as follows: social welfare 595.3 billion KRW (61.0%), environment 54.7 billion KRW (5.6%), culture and tourism 31.6 billion KRW (3.2%), land and regional development 28.1 billion KRW (2.9%), health 26.6 billion KRW (2.7%), education 14.6 billion KRW (1.5%), transportation and logistics 13.6 billion KRW (1.4%), industry, small and medium enterprises, and energy 2.2 billion KRW (0.2%), and others 155.0 billion KRW (15.9%).


The item with the largest budget increase was the health sector, which rose by 4.9 billion KRW (22.5%) compared to the previous year.


A Guro-gu official said, “We put great effort into prioritizing the budget draft for next year on projects closely related to residents' lives or those that are absolutely necessary. We will do our best to ensure that the funds are properly used where they are most needed despite difficult financial conditions.”


The budget draft, submitted to the Guro-gu Council on the 18th, is scheduled to be reviewed at the 332nd regular session of the Guro-gu Council, held from November 27 to December 16.
