On the 23rd (local time), The Hill reported that in an interview with Fox News that day, Hogan recalled a conversation he had with then-presidential candidate Trump at a campaign rally at Madison Square Garden last October, saying that Trump seemed to suggest he wanted to assign Hogan a role in the new cabinet. In this regard, it is known that Congress has requested a comment from the Trump camp.

Hogan stated that during the New York rally, then-candidate Trump mentioned, "You would be great to lead the 'President's Council on Physical Fitness.'" Hogan added that after the rally, he talked with Trump about nutrition and physical health, and that this proposal came up at that time. The "President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition" mentioned by President-elect Trump is a federal advisory committee created to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity. U.S. President Joe Biden has extended the council's operation until September 30, 2025.

In a speech on the last day of the Republican National Convention last July, Hogan emphasized, "I am proud to support my hero (Trump) as the next president of the United States." Hogan waved the American flag as he took the stage. He then said, "As an entertainer, I try not to get involved in politics," but added, "However, considering everything that has happened in our country (the United States) over the past four years and what happened over the weekend, I could no longer remain silent." He also referred to then-presidential candidate Trump as a "true American hero" and a "gladiator," saying, "He has been through thick and thin, but he is still kicking their butts."

Finally, he shouted, "Trump will win in November, and we will all be champions again," and called for "Trumpamania to make America great again."

Regarding Hogan's speech, local media at the time reported that Hogan, who had not previously disclosed his support, changed his mind after the attack on President-elect Trump. Hogan also appeared on Fox News and said, "Seeing former President Trump bleeding but raising his fist in the air and standing up made me realize that this is exactly what America needs."
