The event, which continues until January 4th next year, was planned to share the message of love and peace of Christmas with residents and tourists together.

The event began with a congratulatory performance by the Unus Orchestra and the lighting of a large Christmas tree.

Oh Young-hoon, Governor of Jeju Province, who participated as the Christmas tree lighting host, said, "I will do my best so that all residents can share the joy of Christmas and that even the marginalized neighbors can enjoy a happy life."

Following this, Pastor Ryu Jeong-gil of Seongan Church expressed gratitude, saying, "I am thankful that more than 200 volunteers participated in the project of dressing the street trees with knitted clothes, and I hope this event will be a Christmas where the church and residents celebrate the birth of Jesus together."

The 2024 Christmas Village is composed of various programs that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate in and enjoy.

From Ara Elementary School Intersection to Jeju Girls' Middle and High School Intersection, visitors can enjoy the Christmas atmosphere along the 'Treeknitting Street' decorated with knitted clothes, and starting from the event day on the 23rd, a media facade show themed 'Gifts' will be screened on the church's outer wall every hour from 5 PM to 8 PM for 5 minutes.

In front of Seongan Church's yard, a Christmas market, an Anabada donation market, and a card exhibition dessert contest will be held, along with a variety of cultural performances including classical music, jazz, musicals, and Christmas cantatas.

Meanwhile, a portion of the proceeds from this Christmas Village program will be donated to underprivileged groups.
