The Presidential Office stated on the 24th that "there will be changes in the future communication system of President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife."
According to ruling party officials, President Yoon and his wife are currently not using their previous mobile phones and have reportedly activated new ones.
Regarding this, a Presidential Office official told Asia Economy on the same day, "There will be changes in the future communication system," adding, "You can understand it in that context."
President Yoon hinted at changes in the communication system, including changing mobile phones, during a press conference on the 7th, after various controversies arose as his wife, Kim Geon-hee, continued private communications using her personal phone.
At that time, President Yoon said, "Both my wife and I should have changed our phones after taking office," and added, "There are risks, but I thought there are also advantages, so we did it this way. We will take measures to reduce these risks and ensure that the public does not worry or feel upset about such matters."
