According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education on the 23rd, digital-based teacher research groups are voluntary learning groups where teachers responsible for the same grade and subject in the same region gather to conduct research activities and reflect on their classes, fostering their autonomy and professionalism.
The representative of the research group serves as a ‘Digital Leader Teacher,’ leading reflective training related to digital-based classes at the school level and supporting the capacity development of other teachers. There are a total of 250 Digital Leader Teachers active in the province.
The Office of Education conducted training for 100 teachers in the northern region on the 22nd and 23rd. Training for 150 leader teachers in the southern region is scheduled for the 29th and 30th.
The main contents of the training included △a thematic lecture on the direction of future education transformation and digital-linked school education △classroom practice using AI digital textbooks linked with ‘Hi-Learning’ △sharing cases of research group operations and discussing directions for reflective training △and viewing an exhibition of digital media artworks.
The training was designed to increase participant engagement and interest by incorporating various formats such as lectures, practical exercises, discussions, and field experiences.
Lee Jeong-hyun, Director of the Education Capacity Policy Division at the Office of Education, said, “Teacher research groups are an important driving force and foundation for classroom change,” adding, “We will actively support research groups so that teachers’ capacities can spread to the school and community levels and lead to digital-based educational innovation.”
