Choi Ho-kwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Joins Deepfake Crime Prevention Challenge

Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, joined the 'Deepfake Crime Prevention Relay Challenge' on the morning of the 22nd, encouraging actions to prevent digital crimes.


This challenge was organized to prevent crimes such as the production and distribution of false videos using image synthesis technology (deepfake), to promote the ethical use of deepfake technology, and to raise awareness about digital sex crimes.


Mayor Choi Ho-gwon participated in the campaign holding the slogan "False videos using deepfake technology are clear crimes," following the recommendation of Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong District, expressing a strong commitment to creating a safe local community.


Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "The phrase in today's slogan is not just a slogan but embodies the digital ethics and responsibilities we must uphold. A safe digital environment created by everyone together is the path to building a society where we respect and trust each other. Since small actions can lead to great changes, I ask for your interest and participation."


Mayor Choi Ho-gwon recommended Han Mi-ra, Director of the Seoul Southern Office of Education, as the next participant.
