[Breaking] Court Denies Arrest Warrant for Kim Se-hwan, Former Election Commission Secretary-General, Over 'Son's Preferential Hiring' Allegations

The arrest warrant for Kim Se-hwan, former Secretary General of the Central Election Commission, who is suspected of preferential hiring for his son, was dismissed.

On the 22nd, Judge Kim Seok-beom, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, who conducted the warrant hearing for former Secretary General Kim, dismissed the arrest warrant requested by the prosecution on charges of abuse of authority and obstruction of exercise of rights.

Judge Kim stated the reason for dismissal: "Although the matter is serious, it is difficult to conclude that there is a possibility of evidence destruction or flight risk."
