‘Let's Overcome Cancer Together, Goyang’ Health Management Program Selected
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) Ilsanseo-gu Public Health Center announced on the 22nd that it was selected as an excellent institution in the field of home cancer patient management by receiving the Gyeonggi Province Governor’s Award at the ‘2024 Regional Cancer Management Project’ evaluation contest.

In this evaluation contest hosted by Gyeonggi Province, awards were given to seven institutions with outstanding achievements in the regional cancer management project ▲home cancer patient management ▲cancer prevention ▲national cancer screening among 46 public health centers in the province and the regional headquarters and branches of the National Health Insurance Service in the Gyeongin area.
The excellent entries that received awards are automatically selected as candidates for the Minister of Health and Welfare Award for excellent cases in the national cancer management project.
Ilsanseo-gu Public Health Center presented the ‘Together, Overcome Cancer, Goyang’ health management program for home cancer patients operated this year as an excellent case.
The ‘Together, Overcome Cancer, Goyang’ health management program comprehensively supports physical and mental health through ▲psychological stability and vitality enhancement via vegetable garden cultivation ▲health monitoring of cancer patients ▲customized health education involving oriental medicine doctors ▲pain management program linked with home health care services.
External judges among the panel commented, “The program was efficiently operated by utilizing community resources and faithfully performed the role of public health medical institutions,” and “It would be good to continuously operate the program by expanding community resources such as allotment of vegetable gardens so that many beneficiaries can receive the benefits.”
A representative of Ilsanseo-gu Public Health Center said, “This award is the result of establishing a practical support system for cancer patients through cooperation between the health center and the local community,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen the home cancer patient management project to contribute to improving the health level in the region.”
