In the special lecture held on the 21st, President Park detailed the policies pursued by North Korea's key leaders from Chairman Kim Il-sung to National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong-il and State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un, explaining the changes in North Korea in chronological order.
In particular, he introduced to the participants various efforts and anecdotes for inter-Korean peace and exchange cooperation during his visit to North Korea while serving as Minister of Unification, meeting with then National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong-il. He also discussed prospects for peace settlement in Northeast Asia and the future of the Korean Peninsula, exchanging diverse opinions.
The Unification Future Executive Program, jointly operated by Gyeongnam National University and the University of North Korean Studies, is a course that contemplates peace settlement in Northeast Asia and the future of the Korean Peninsula, sharing knowledge, strategies, and visions for unification's future.
The 14th class, which started in October, has gathered wisdom on the past, present, and future of the Korean Peninsula every Thursday with top domestic experts with extensive experience in unification, diplomacy, and security fields. About 100 participants of the 14th class of the Unification Future Executive Program attended the special lecture that day.
