Achievement After 20 Years... Thriving Domestically
Mercedes-Benz's top-tier sub-brand Maybach has surpassed 10,000 cumulative sales in South Korea.
On the 22nd, Mercedes-Benz Korea announced that Mercedes-Maybach has exceeded 10,000 cumulative sales in the domestic market after more than 20 years since its launch in 2004. The 10,000th vehicle delivered in Korea was the first Maybach electric vehicle, the 'Maybach EQS SUV,' released in July.
Maybach entered the Korean market in June 2004 with the 'Maybach 57' and 'Maybach 62.' In 2015, it launched the 'Maybach S-Class,' which combined the technology of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with Maybach's luxury. In 2021, Maybach introduced its first sports utility vehicle (SUV), the Maybach GLS.
Domestic sales in 2022 increased by 147% compared to the previous year, totaling 1,961 units. Last year, sales rose by 32% to 2,596 units, marking the highest sales volume ever. Since 2019, South Korea has been the second-largest market for Maybach after China, selling more units than Germany, the home country of Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz Korea also held a commemorative event yesterday at the Maybach House, a brand-exclusive space in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Matthias Bechtle, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea, and Kilian Tellen, Vice President overseeing product, marketing, and digital business at Mercedes-Benz Korea.
CEO Matthias Bechtle said, "We will continue to strive to enhance customer satisfaction in Korea with the best products and services."
