Uijeongbu-si, Joint Street Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Day

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 22nd that it conducted a 'Joint Street Campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Day' targeting over 300 citizens at Haengbok-ro Square on the 20th in celebration of the 2024 Child Abuse Prevention Week.

Under the slogan "Let's Work Together," this campaign was carried out in collaboration with the Uijeongbu Child Protection Agency, Uijeongbu Police Station, Uijeongbu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, Uijeongbu Childcare Support Center, Northern Gyeonggi Foster Care Support Center, and the Women's Emergency Hotline 1366 Northern Gyeonggi Center.


The program focused on experiential activities such as child abuse-related puzzles and hidden word searches, child abuse OX quizzes, fingerprint registration for missing child prevention, and awareness surveys on the child protection system to encourage citizens' interest in preventing child abuse.


In celebration of Child Abuse Prevention Week, Uijeongbu City held the Child Abuse Prevention Day commemorative event "Adding Love with Our Hands" on the 19th and plans to conduct a child-participatory mobile campaign titled "Reading the Heart" until the 25th.


Park Jin-seok, director of the Uijeongbu Child Protection Agency who participated in the campaign, said, "It was meaningful to inform citizens about the World Child Abuse Prevention Day and to engage in valuable activities to eradicate abuse together with related child abuse response agencies," adding, "We will work diligently to prevent child abuse so that children can grow up safely and healthily."
