Large-scale rallies and marathon events will be held consecutively this weekend, resulting in traffic restrictions in downtown Seoul.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 22nd that traffic in the area will be restricted due to a rally and march hosted by the Emergency Action Against Veto Power on the afternoon of the 23rd, and a half marathon event hosted by the YMCA on the 24th.

Accordingly, on the 23rd, the opposite side of the rally locations such as Sejong-daero and Sajik-ro will be operated as reversible lanes. Additionally, during the march, the police will operate the opposite lanes of the march direction on Ujeongguk-ro and Namdaemun-ro as reversible lanes, and traffic will be restricted for vehicles heading from Toegye-ro 2-ga intersection to Toegye-ro 1-ga direction, diverting vehicles toward Eulji-ro and Sopa-ro.

On the 24th, traffic restrictions will be enforced on major roads including Sejong-daero, Cheongwadae-ro, Eulji-ro, and Cheonggyecheon-ro, which are part of the half marathon course. Traffic will be restricted from 7:30 AM to 9:43 AM on the section from Sejong Intersection to Gwanghwamun, from 8:53 AM to 9:42 AM on the Cheongwadae-ro section, from 9:01 AM to 9:50 AM on the section from Sejong Intersection to Sungnyemun Five-way Intersection, and from 9:21 AM to 11:44 AM on Cheonggyecheon-ro from Mugyo to Gosan-ja Bridge.

The police plan to deploy about 630 personnel, including traffic officers, to minimize traffic congestion and inconvenience to citizens this weekend, focusing on traffic flow management such as diverting long-distance vehicles.

A police official urged, "Please use public transportation such as the subway this weekend and follow the traffic officers' hand signals carefully if you are driving through restricted areas, and take long-distance detours."
