HD Hyundai Heavy, on Hanwha's Withdrawal of Complaint, Says "Hope KDDX Proceeds Swiftly" Yonhap News

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries expressed relief over Hanwha Ocean's withdrawal of the complaint and stated hope that the Korean next-generation destroyer (KDDX) project will proceed swiftly.

On the 22nd, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries released a statement saying, "It has already been confirmed multiple times that we were selected as the basic design contractor for the KDDX project through a fair and lawful process," and added, "Although belated, we are relieved that Hanwha Ocean has withdrawn the complaint."

They continued, "Since the KDDX project has been significantly delayed, we hope that Hanwha Ocean's application to be designated as a defense contractor will also be withdrawn and that the KDDX project will proceed promptly in accordance with laws and principles," and stated, "HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will make every effort to strengthen the competitiveness of 'K-Defense' and expand exports."

Earlier, Hanwha Ocean announced that it would withdraw the police complaint against HD Hyundai Heavy Industries related to the KDDX bidding. On the morning of the same day, Hanwha Ocean visited the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters to submit the withdrawal of the complaint. In March of this year, Hanwha Ocean had filed a complaint with the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters, requesting an investigation into whether executives were involved in the leak of military secrets related to HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' KDDX project.
