Sahakyeongeum Announces Declaration of Action to Overcome Low Birthrate Crisis

The Private School Teachers' Pension Service announced the 'Declaration of Practice to Overcome the Low Birthrate Crisis' on the 21st at the Korea Electric Power Corporation headquarters, together with 10 public institutions relocated to Bitgaram Innovation City.

The 'Declaration of Practice to Overcome the Low Birthrate Crisis' includes a commitment to actively participate in overcoming the low birthrate crisis and population extinction issues, creating a work environment conducive to happy marriage, childbirth, and childcare, and establishing a culture of work-family balance through improvement of work practices, reflecting a strong will to actively implement government policies to overcome the low birthrate crisis.

Since 2011, the Private School Teachers' Pension Service has maintained certification as a family-friendly company from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and strives to participate in overcoming the low birthrate crisis by actively operating flexible working systems, introducing sensitive leave protection processes, and running workplace daycare centers to create a happy workplace.

Additionally, during this declaration ceremony, time was spent sharing examples of family-friendly systems that have been introduced more proactively than in the current public sector, such as 'securing flexibility in childcare time' and 'allowing overtime work for users of childcare time.'

Chairman Song Hajung stated, “The low birthrate crisis and population extinction are issues concerning the sustainability of humanity that must be overcome,” and added, “We will take the lead in overcoming the low birthrate crisis by improving personnel systems and organizational culture to create a happy workplace and a guaranteed family-friendly company.”
