Gongju City in Chungnam announced on the 22nd that it won the Grand Prize in the Blog and Facebook categories at the 10th 2024 SNS of the Year Awards, hosted and organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association, held at the Korea Press Center in Seoul on the 21st. The city also received the Excellence Award in the Instagram category.
The city's official blog, "Heungmijinjin Gongju," features 30 supporter reporters with expertise, who promptly introduce Gongju's top travel destinations and attractions, as well as local festivals and events such as the Baekje Cultural Festival and Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival, establishing Gongju as a tourism city.
This year, through collaboration with influencers, the city launched the "Royal 10-Course Tour Content" on its blog and Instagram, receiving an enthusiastic response from tourists.
The city operates seven channels, including Facebook, Blog, Instagram, and YouTube, tailored to each platform's characteristics. It has been evaluated as a comprehensive communication channel that actively engages with citizens through excellent content and diverse information.
Mayor Choi Woncheol stated, "I believe our efforts to expand two-way communication through various initiatives on social media during the 8th civil administration have led to these positive results. Moving forward, we will continue to create diverse content tailored to the characteristics of each social media channel to promote Gongju City and take the lead in providing prompt and accurate information."
