Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 22nd that it has proactively established snow removal measures to minimize citizens' inconvenience and prevent safety accidents caused by heavy snowfall during the winter season.

The measures focus on securing equipment and personnel early to respond swiftly to sudden heavy snowfall and minimizing citizens' inconvenience through efficient snow removal operations.

Looking at the main details, first, to strengthen response in vulnerable areas such as major roads, side streets, sidewalks, and bridges, 116 snow removal equipment units were secured, an increase of 32 units compared to last year.

Additionally, 61 units of 15-ton dump trucks, 43 units of 1-ton trucks, and 12 excavators were deployed to 10 forward bases, and they will be immediately dispatched for snow removal operations once a snowfall forecast is issued.

Furthermore, approximately 10,000 tons of eco-friendly snow melting agents have been secured for emergency situations, and automatic brine spraying devices are operated at 39 locations vulnerable to freezing and snow removal. The city plans to use closed-circuit television (CCTV) to monitor road conditions in real time and remotely spray brine during snowfall to prevent safety accidents.
