The Semiconductor Tech Seminar is an event that Samsung Electronics has been regularly hosting twice a year, in the first and second halves, since 2019 for its partners. It is characterized by selecting topics and organizing lectures based on the needs of partner employees.

This time, the theme was 'Next-Generation Semiconductor Industry Directions and Equipment Innovation Cases.' It mainly covered growth drivers of the next-generation semiconductor market and ways to secure competitiveness in the materials, parts, and equipment industries.

Professor Kim Jeong-ho from KAIST delivered the keynote speech titled 'Next-Generation HBM Structure and Opportunities in Materials, Parts, and Equipment in the AI Era.' Professor Kim explained the necessity and structure of next-generation HBM in an easy-to-understand manner and deeply discussed the key challenges and opportunities for the expansion of the materials, parts, and equipment business through this.

Lee Seok-won, Vice President of the Smart Equipment Technology Team at Samsung Electronics DS Division, gave a presentation titled 'A New Paradigm for Future Semiconductor Equipment,' explaining the growth stages of semiconductor fabs and introducing four changes in equipment innovation: hardware, software & artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and ESG.

Vice President Lee said, "Optimization in all elements such as materials, design, and processes is essential due to semiconductor miniaturization," adding, "To realize automated fabs, it is important to build a collaborative ecosystem across various areas including equipment, parts, raw materials, infrastructure, and standards."

Kim Byung-guk, CEO of ESOL, who has been developing extreme ultraviolet (EUV) process solutions and equipment, introduced cases of equipment innovation through his lecture titled 'Challenges and Tasks in Domestic Production of EUV Equipment.' The final speaker, Lee Kyung-yeop, Secretary General of the National Nano Infrastructure Council, explained 'MoaFab (MoaFab: Fab Service Integrated Information System).' MoaFab is a system that gathers national nanofab services dispersed across various institutions into one place and provides them online.

Samsung Electronics has achieved the highest grade for 13 consecutive years for the first time among domestic companies in the '2023 Win-Win Growth Index Evaluation' selected by the Win-Win Growth Committee. Since the introduction of the Win-Win Growth Index Evaluation in 2011, Samsung Electronics is the only company to have received the highest grade for 13 consecutive years.

Under the core values of 'Pursuit of Mutual Growth and Integrity Management,' Samsung Electronics carries out various win-win cooperation activities. It supports not only first-tier partners but also second- and third-tier partners and small and medium enterprises that have not yet engaged in transactions, thereby expanding the horizon of win-win cooperation.
