The First Overseas Hydrogen Fuel Cell System Factory
Ulsan City announced that Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, who is visiting China for strategic economic cooperation with Guangzhou City, will visit and inspect Hyundai Motor Company's HTWO Guangzhou plant at 3 p.m. local time on the 22nd (4 p.m. Korean time).
The HTWO Guangzhou plant is Hyundai Motor Group's first overseas hydrogen fuel cell system factory, located in Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China.
This visit was arranged ahead of the joint cooperation agreement signing on the hydrogen ecosystem scheduled for the 25th between Ulsan City, Guangzhou, and Hyundai Motor Company. Through this, Ulsan City plans to understand the hydrogen industry trends in Guangzhou and observe the production status of the HTWO Guangzhou plant.
During the inspection, Mayor Kim will discuss the current state and future potential of the hydrogen industry with Hyundai Motor's head of the corporation, Oh Seung-chan, and encourage the on-site employees.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, "I hope the HTWO Guangzhou plant will achieve greater leaps in the hydrogen energy sector," and added, "I hope Hyundai Motor serves as a bridge between Ulsan City and Guangzhou City as a global leader in hydrogen."
The hydrogen fuel cell system is a technology that combines air supply, hydrogen supply, and thermal management systems to generate electricity through the electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen in the air. This core technology corresponds to the automobile engine and is expected to be utilized in various fields such as passenger cars, commercial vehicles, emergency power generation, electric vehicle charging, ships, trams, and urban aircraft.
