Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 22nd that the Yongsan-gu Youth Support Center (Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim), which is operated on a consignment basis, won the Grand Prize in the Youth category of the ‘2024 Out-of-School Youth Support Project’ awarded by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on the 21st.
Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim plays an important role in supporting out-of-school youth aged 9 to 24 to return to their studies or enter society, helping them grow into healthy members of society.
Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim has provided customized integrated services to marginalized and vulnerable out-of-school youth through cooperation with the youth safety network, centered on the Yongsan-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, which includes schools, the Office of Education, police stations and probation offices, suicide prevention centers, youth shelters, and national and public medical institutions.
To offer individually tailored services to out-of-school youth facing various difficulties such as depression, lethargy, and decreased academic motivation, Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim operates a variety of online and offline programs including basic competency education, cultural experiences, self-development, support for qualification exams, certification acquisition support, and job experience. Through these programs, youth are helped to discover their own potential and prepare for a better future.
As a result of these efforts, Yongsan-gu Kkumdeulim received the Grand Prize in the Youth category of the ‘2024 Out-of-School Youth Support Project’ awarded by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “We will continue to do our best to provide customized services so that out-of-school youth who are marginalized in their families and society can return to their studies and develop self-reliance skills.”
