Hyundai Construction Enters Hannam 4 District Redevelopment "Premium View from Anywhere"

Competition Between Samsung C&T and Another Bidder for Construction Rights of Hannam 4 District, the Largest Redevelopment Project in Gangbuk

Amid the competition between Samsung C&T and Hyundai Engineering & Construction for the construction rights of Hannam 4 District in Yongsan-gu, considered the "biggest prize" in northern Seoul redevelopment, Hyundai Engineering & Construction unveiled a design on the 22nd that maximizes the views in Hannam 4 District.

All union members can enjoy views of the Han River, Namsan, or Yongsan Park. Utilizing advanced AI technology, the design enhances the completeness of views for each household by confirming sightlines and views by floor. The number of main buildings was drastically reduced from 51 to 29, and the distance between buildings was widened to secure a sense of openness.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction designed the building layout in a Y-shape to maximize the proportion of units facing the Han River. For the lower floors, a 7-meter-high pilotis was applied at the base of the buildings to minimize visual interference from the Seobinggo overpass. Additionally, a sky bridge stretching 300 meters?the longest along the Han River?was designed as a central element of the complex.
