Support for Vulnerable Elderly to Have a Warm Winter

Hyo-ryeong Senior Welfare Town, affiliated with Gwangju Social Service Center (Director Jeong Gyeong-nam), will hold a 'Kimchi and Tteokgalbi Sharing Event' for vulnerable elderly people over two days on the 21st and 22nd.
This event was organized as part of the Senior Customized Care Service to support dietary improvement and health management.
On the first day of the event, the 21st, more than 20 staff members, including Director Jeong Gyeong-nam, made and packaged kimchi full of love on the outdoor lawn of Hyo-ryeong Senior Welfare Town.
On the 22nd, they will participate in the '2024 Korea Kimchi Festival' held at Gwangju 5·18 Democracy Square, preparing 1,080 kg of kimchi (72 boxes of 5 kg each) to be delivered to 216 elderly people receiving customized care. Additionally, tteokgalbi sets (2 per person) will be provided, delivering to a total of about 520 elderly living alone.
Jeong Gyeong-nam, Director of Hyo-ryeong Senior Welfare Town, said, "This event was organized to help the elderly have a healthy and warm winter," and added, "We will continue to actively promote volunteer activities and sharing events for the local community."
