Kremlin Palace Responds to Russia ICBM Launch Suspicion with "Contact the Military"

Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Administration, responded to allegations that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at Ukraine by saying, "Contact the military," according to a report on the 21st (local time) by RIA Novosti, a Russian state news agency.

According to the report, when asked whether the Kremlin could confirm the allegations of Russia launching an ICBM, Peskov replied, "No. I recommend contacting the military."

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that on the morning of the same day, Russia launched an ICBM from the southern Astrakhan region while conducting attacks against Ukraine. If true, this would be the first instance of Russia using an ICBM in this war.

The Ukrainian Air Force said the attack targeted businesses and key infrastructure in the mid-eastern city of Dnipro. However, they did not specify what exactly the ICBM struck or whether it caused any damage.

Prior to this, Ukraine had launched the U.S. tactical ballistic missile ATACMS and the British cruise missile Storm Shadow to attack Russia. The Russian side has stated that such attempts would escalate tensions.
