Democratic Party Files Ethics Complaint Over Malicious False Framing
"There is no reason to persuade Mr. Myeong Taegyun, nor any reason to make a deal with him."
On the 21st, Yoon Hanhong, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party representing Masanhwoe-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, who is embroiled in controversy over allegedly attempting to persuade Mr. Myeong?who is under arrest and investigation as a key figure in the allegations of Kim Geonhee's interference in candidate selection?said this at the National Assembly Communication Office in Yeouido, Seoul.
At a press conference, Assemblyman Yoon stated, "During the recent National Assembly Steering Committee's audit, Secretary General Jeong Jinseok said, 'President Yoon Seokyeol told Mr. Myeong not to call me or my wife, and then abruptly ended the call.'"
He added, "Upon hearing that, I personally contacted an acquaintance and said that Mr. Myeong selectively excerpts texts and recordings that are easy to boast and show off to those around him, but shouldn't the recordings where the president rejects him also be revealed?"
He emphasized, "I thought that would reveal the overall truth, and there was no further conversation."

"Claims of persuasion or deals are absolutely false," he said, "and anyone can quickly verify this by checking with the acquaintance I spoke to."
Assemblyman Yoon said, "A certain media outlet distorted this and reported that I tried to persuade Mr. Myeong, and the Democratic Party, without verifying the facts, maliciously framed me by claiming I attempted to bribe for non-detention, coached false testimony, and tried to cover up evidence, and filed a complaint with the Ethics Committee based on this."
He reiterated, "Once again, I have never persuaded Mr. Myeong nor attempted any deal."
He further explained, "On the contrary, during the last presidential election, I warned the presidential candidate that Myeong Taegyun was a dangerous person and advised to stay away from him."
"Why would I persuade Mr. Myeong? We are not even on good terms, so would persuasion even work? Anyone who talks to Myeong Taegyun knows the conversation is recorded, so who would talk about persuasion?" he questioned, adding, "There is no reason to persuade, nor any reason to make a deal."
