Actress Sunwoo Eun-sook (64) has filed an annulment lawsuit against her ex-husband, broadcaster Yoo Young-jae (60), and sharp disagreements between the two continued during the third trial.
On the 21st, the Family Division 1 of the Seongnam Branch of Suwon Family Court held the third hearing of the annulment lawsuit filed by Sunwoo Eun-sook against Yoo Young-jae. On this day, Sunwoo Eun-sook’s legal representative, lawyer Noh Jong-eon (Law Firm Jonjae), reportedly submitted written evidence to prove the common-law marriage relationship. On the other hand, Yoo Young-jae’s side submitted documents denying the common-law marriage allegations and maintained the same position as before. The court plans to deliver its verdict on the afternoon of the 19th of next month.
Previously, Sunwoo Eun-sook and Yoo Young-jae separated in April, one year and six months after their remarriage. Afterwards, Sunwoo Eun-sook stated in an official statement, "Two days after the divorce, I learned through media reports that Yoo Young-jae had hidden a common-law marriage while getting married," and announced that she had filed an annulment lawsuit. Additionally, in September, she submitted to the court a fact inquiry application from a certain capital company containing information that Yoo Young-jae had registered a woman suspected to be in a common-law marriage, Ms. A, as an additional driver of a vehicle.
According to the details, Yoo Young-jae added Ms. A as an additional driver to a vehicle used by himself and his family in 2020. Later, after officially registering his marriage with Sunwoo Eun-sook on September 1, 2022, the couple became husband and wife, and about a month later, on October 18, he removed Ms. A and added Sunwoo Eun-sook as an additional driver. Based on this, Sunwoo Eun-sook’s side claimed, "Yoo Young-jae had registered Ms. A as an additional driver for about two years before marriage and maintained this status until about a month after the marriage." Furthermore, a witness for Sunwoo Eun-sook testified during the second hearing last month, saying, "Yoo Young-jae referred to Ms. A, who is suspected of being in a common-law marriage, as 'wife' and they called each other 'you' and 'honey.' I learned about their relationship because they said they were planning to have a wedding soon."
Moreover, it was revealed that Sunwoo Eun-sook’s elder sister, Ms. B, filed a complaint against Yoo Young-jae in April on charges of sexual assault, causing a stir. Regarding this, Sunwoo Eun-sook’s side announced on the 21st of last month, "The Seongnam Branch of Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office recognized Yoo Young-jae’s violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, etc. (sexual assault by a family member) against Sunwoo Eun-sook’s elder sister and prosecuted him without detention." Yoo Young-jae, who stepped down from his radio show due to the incident, stated on his YouTube channel, "I was framed with sexual assault charges that will never be erased even if I die," and added, "If I die like this, the dirty sexual assault will be accepted as fact, so I have decided to fight legally."
