Selected for the "Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project" Competition
3.2 Billion Won Invested in Gukdong Port and Others by 2027 for "Attraction" Development
The Yeosu night sea is expected to be upgraded to become more diverse and attractive.
According to Yeosu City on the 21st, it was selected in this year's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'Night Tourism Specialized City Development Project' contest, and is promoting the project under the theme 'Rhythm of the Night, YEOSU.'
This project aims to expand night tourism spaces and create a differentiated specialized city, building a 'multi-sensory night tourism image' by adding sound, light, and emotional elements to the existing Yeosu night sea.
To this end, by 2027, 3.2 billion KRW will be invested in the area of Yeosu City, including Gukdong Port Waterfront Park and Jangdo, to develop new night tourism content and create nightscape attractions.
A city official stated, “Through this contest project, we aim to further solidify our position as a representative night tourism city in Korea,” and added, “It is expected to be an opportunity to successfully host the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, revitalize the local economy, and establish Yeosu as an international tourist city.”
