The Gwangju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center in Gyeonggi Province (Director Lee Jong-jae) was selected as an excellent institution in the '2024 Regional Self-Sufficiency Center Management Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
According to Gwangju City on the 21st, this management evaluation comprehensively assessed the performance of 250 regional self-sufficiency centers nationwide based on factors such as the rate of increase or decrease in self-sufficiency project participants, the rate of increase and retention of asset formation support subscribers, and the growth in sales of business units.
Among 33 centers in Gyeonggi Province, 13 centers were selected, and among them, the Gwangju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center was recognized for its outstanding performance and selected as an excellent institution, receiving an incentive of 5 million KRW.
Mayor Bang Se-hwan stated, "I believe this achievement is the result of the tireless efforts and passion of the self-sufficiency center and its participants to revitalize the projects," and added, "I ask the Gwangju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center to continue to take the lead in supporting independence by developing various jobs and providing welfare for low-income groups in the region."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center operates 17 self-sufficiency labor business units, including handicrafts, card delivery, and cafe business units, as well as 4 self-sufficiency enterprises, providing jobs to low-income participating residents and actively striving to help low-income groups successfully achieve independence by fostering motivation for self-sufficiency.
