Continuous Recruitment of Building Owners for 'Attached Parking Lot Opening Support Project'... Alleviating Local Parking Shortage and Promoting Sharing Culture
Attached Parking Lots with 5 or More Spaces, Available for at Least 2 Years Eligible
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-gwon) announced that it is continuously recruiting building owners to participate in the “Attached Parking Lot Opening Support Project” to alleviate local parking difficulties and promote a culture of sharing.
The “Attached Parking Lot Opening Support Project” is a program that supports opening attached parking lots of apartments, schools, companies, religious facilities, etc., with available parking spaces to nearby residents either free of charge or for a fee.
Through this, building owners can receive benefits such as funding for parking facility improvements and revenue generation from operating parking spaces, while nearby residents can enjoy convenient parking environments, expecting positive effects of coexistence within the local community.
The district provides various benefits to building owners participating in this project. ▲ Installation of barriers and CCTV ▲ Painting of parking spaces ▲ Installation of guide signs ▲ Repair of locking devices, etc., with support for parking facility improvement costs up to 30 million KRW. However, the condition is to open at least 5 parking spaces in the attached parking lot for more than 2 years.
Additionally, building owners participating in the project can receive a reduction in the traffic inducement charge. The district offers a discount of up to 5% based on the resident usage rate relative to the total number of opened parking spaces, easing the economic burden of participants.
Those wishing to participate in the Attached Parking Lot Opening Support Project can contact the district office’s Parking Culture Division for detailed guidance. The district plans to continuously expand participants through ongoing recruitment.
This year, the district discovered 131 available parking spaces across 6 attached parking lots and newly opened them to residents, contributing to alleviating parking difficulties in the area. In addition, in July, the district created 20 resident-priority parking spaces by utilizing leftover land in Mullae-dong and held an idea contest for expanding parking lots, implementing various projects to secure parking spaces.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “We hope this project will solve the chronic parking problem and provide practical help to both participating building owners and residents,” adding, “We will continue to create a more convenient and livable environment through public-private cooperation. We ask for the active interest and participation of residents.”
