At the report meeting, Mayor Bang Se-hwan, related city departments, Gwangju Cultural Foundation, festival operation committees, city council members, and citizens interested in the festivals attended. The event proceeded with watching highlight videos of the festivals, reporting achievements of each festival, discussing development plans, and collecting opinions.

This year’s festivals offered diverse programs through new attempts to promote Gwangju’s identity and cultural and artistic development, and were evaluated as laying the foundation for advancing into global festivals and revitalizing the local economy.

However, for qualitative improvement of the festivals, development plans included establishing an operational system through selection and concentration, adopting festival names with mass appeal, and strengthening content aligned with new consumer trends.

Gwangju City and the foundation plan to focus on discovering more innovative and identity-rich content befitting the reputation of Gwangju as a cultural and artistic city, based on the opinions and evaluation results derived on this day.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “We will strive to supplement the shortcomings presented through the evaluation report meeting and create a more substantial festival that everyone can agree on through continuous collection of opinions. I also thank everyone who worked hard to ensure that all festivals held in 2024 can shine without any safety accidents.”
