Expansion of Local Economic Revitalization Policies and Call for Participation in Kindness Campaign
Mayor Lee Chung-woo: "We Will Spare No Support for Small Business Owners in the City and Province"
On November 20, Lee Chung-woo, Mayor of Yeoju City, attended the 2024 ‘Yeoju Small Business Owners' Day’ event hosted by the Yeoju Small Business Owners Association (President Yoon Hee-jung) to encourage local small business owners.
According to Yeoju City on the 21st, ‘Yeoju Small Business Owners' Day’ is an annual event held to remind the importance of small business owners and to provide a time for communication and harmony. This year, it was organized to express gratitude to Yeoju’s small business owners and to encourage their passion and dedication.
The event was attended by about 100 people, including Mayor Lee Chung-woo, National Assembly member Kim Sun-kyo, Vice Chairman of Gyeonggi Provincial Council Kim Gyu-chang, Chairman of Yeoju City Council Park Doo-hyung, city council members Lee Sang-sook, Jung Byung-kwan, Jin Sun-hwa, President of the Gyeonggi Small Business Owners Association Lee Sang-baek, and officials from the Yeoju Small Business Owners Association. During the event, commendation plaques were awarded to 23 meritorious individuals who contributed to supporting small business owners, expressing appreciation for their efforts in revitalizing the local economy.
Mayor Lee Chung-woo said, “Small business owners play a vital role in Yeoju’s economy, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all small business owners for their efforts. Yeoju City is also promoting urban regeneration, industrial complex development, and win-win voucher projects to revitalize the local economy. In May next year, coinciding with the opening ceremony of the suspension bridge, we have designated 2025 as the inaugural year of Yeoju tourism and are pushing forward with related initiatives.”
He added, “I hope small business owners will also participate in the kindness campaign, and Yeoju City will continue to provide unwavering support for small business owners.”
Yeoju City plans to expand support for small business owners, the backbone of the local economy, next year as well, and will strive to revitalize the regional economy.
