According to the council on the 21st, this site inspection was conducted on the 20th by visiting nine major sites in the district to secure necessary materials for major projects ahead of the full-scale 2024 administrative audit, as well as to actively collect issues and improvement points.

First, the Autonomy and Administration Committee (Chairman Lim Hee-do) started the day by visiting the old Veterans Hall and the Disabled Persons Hall in Hasangok-dong, followed by the Hanam Cultural Foundation, and then the second Senior Welfare Center in Misa 3-dong, scheduled for completion in December. Afterwards, they visited Hanam Sports Complex and the Han River riverside park golf course site in sequence to check the progress of the projects.

Committee members including Chairman Lim Hee-do, Jeong Hye-young, Jeong Byeong-yong, Park Seon-mi, and Oh Ji-yeon visited six sites with the attitude of ‘Igwan-gyeonji (以觀見知, to see is to know),’ carefully inspecting and urging for smooth project implementation and thorough collection of residents’ opinions.

Lim Hee-do, Chairman of the Autonomy and Administration Committee, stated, “Our problems are always found on site,” emphasizing the approach of ‘Woo-Mun-Hyeon-Dap’ (우·문·현·답). He added, “We listened attentively to the diverse voices from the field through visits to major project sites. We will thoroughly review the collected materials and suggestions to prepare diligently for an efficient administrative audit.”

The Urban Construction Committee (Chairman Choi Hoon-jong) on the same day conducted its first site visit to the Hanam Misa District Park to inspect the detention basin and facilities. They then toured the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway construction site around Gwangam-dong and visited Hakamcheon in Gami-dong to observe the ‘Hakamcheon Maintenance Project’ and ‘Hakam-ro Road Construction’ sites.

Committee members including Chairman Choi Hoon-jong, Park Seon-mi, Kang Seong-sam, Park Jin-hee, and Oh Seung-cheol recalled the meaning of ‘Banmun Nongbu (反問農夫, questioning farmer),’ which means that asking those who actually work on site yields better answers. They held a Q&A session with site officials to hear about progress and difficulties.

Choi Hoon-jong, Chairman of the Urban Construction Committee, emphasized, “When solving problems, it is very important not to rely solely on theoretical approaches but to listen to those who have direct experience on site, including related personnel and experts. I will devote myself to this year’s administrative audit with a learning attitude.”

The council members plan to conduct the 2024 administrative audit by comprehensively reviewing the issues identified and materials collected on site, proposing alternatives rather than criticisms, and seeking development plans to invigorate Hanam’s economy and make Hanam a more livable city.

Meanwhile, the highlight of the 336th temporary session’s 2nd regular meeting, the 2024 administrative audit, will be conducted by standing committees from the 21st to the 29th. The Autonomy and Administration Committee will conduct administrative audits of relevant departments from the 21st to the 27th, and the Urban Construction Committee will do so from the 25th to the 29th.
