Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 21st that it disclosed the list of delinquent taxpayers on the 20th to raise awareness among high-amount and habitual defaulters of local administrative sanctions and fines, and to promote payment consciousness.
The disclosure of the delinquent taxpayer list is a system promoted annually by Gyeonggi Province to encourage tax payment. It is conducted by publicly revealing the information of delinquent taxpayers who have been finally selected after two rounds of review.
The subjects of the disclosure are individuals and corporations who, according to Article 7-3 of the Act on the Collection of Local Administrative Sanctions and Fines, have been delinquent for more than one year from the date of occurrence and have delinquent amounts of 10 million won or more. There are 66 individuals and 11 corporations subject to disclosure.
The disclosed list can be checked through the Pocheon City Hall website and the Gyeonggi Province website.
A Pocheon City official stated, “We will continue to do our best to collect delinquent local administrative sanctions and fines,” and added, “We will continuously strive to achieve fair taxation and tax justice.”
