Activation of Stabilized Taboso App Usage... Various Promotions Underway

Pohang City’s public taxi call service, ‘Taboso Taxi,’ has achieved service stabilization and an increase in users within two months of its launch, accelerating service activation through various promotions.

In the early stages of ‘Taboso Taxi,’ there were some trial-and-error issues in parts of the service such as call success rates and waiting times, but continuous technical updates and communication with the taxi industry and citizens have largely resolved these problems, focusing on stabilization.

With app stabilization efforts and ongoing training for taxi drivers, the current call success rate has improved to over 80%, leading to service stabilization and an increase in users.

Since the launch of ‘Taboso Taxi,’ the number of subscribers has steadily increased, currently reaching 15,000 members, and the number of registered taxi driver members is also steadily growing.

In particular, the local gift certificate payment system and the free fare commission policy provide economic benefits to citizens and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

Citizens using the Taboso app initially experienced some inconveniences, but recently, they have expressed high satisfaction due to the ease of calling taxis and the attractive feature of receiving discounts through local gift certificates.

Pohang City plans to carry out various promotions to activate the stabilized Taboso app, including accumulating part of the taxi fare for users over three months starting at the end of the year and conducting referral events to expand passenger membership.

Additionally, by providing incentives to taxi drivers who accept calls during difficult dispatch times and areas, the city aims to raise the dispatch success rate to over 90%.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “Taboso Taxi is more than just a transportation service; it is a platform that improves the local economy and citizens’ lives together,” adding, “We will continue to make efforts to ensure more citizens can benefit through technological advancement and service expansion.”
