The Gangbuk Reservoir, located in Inchang-dong, was completed in 1997 and has been in operation for about 27 years. It supplies tap water to the residents of Inchang-dong and Donggu-dong.

According to the city, the detailed safety inspection results showed some minor defects, but overall, the condition of the facility was appropriate, and the quality and durability of the materials used were confirmed to be good. The structural safety factor of the civil engineering structures was also judged to be above the standard.

The city plans to promptly repair the minor defects, and it expects that if maintenance continues as it is now, the facility can maintain its durability for more than 30 years in the future.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “I am relieved to confirm through this detailed safety inspection that the Gangbuk Reservoir is operating stably,” and added, “We will strive to ensure the safety and maintenance of the facilities to supply clean and safe tap water that protects the health of Guri citizens.”
