This measure was promoted to establish a rapid initial response system in preparation for sudden heavy snowfall, and Hanam City plans to protect the lives and property of citizens through thorough prior preparation.
According to Hanam City on the 21st, in preparation for road surface freezing that may occur during snowfall, 10 kg of snow melting agents were distributed to each Dong Administrative Welfare Center, and snow removal boxes were placed in vulnerable sections. In addition, to prepare for heavy snowfall, rental contracts for construction machinery, including 15 trucks of 15 tons and 14 trucks of 1 ton to be assigned to the Administrative Welfare Centers, have been completed.
Hanam City, in particular, will implement a rental service for the first time this year by deploying 14 trucks of 1 ton to 14 Dong Administrative Welfare Centers to strengthen snow removal on side roads managed by the centers. Accordingly, when a snowfall forecast is issued, the 1-ton trucks assigned to each Dong will be immediately deployed to the site for snow removal.
Regarding the main snow removal measures, Hanam City has designated Sangyeo Hill (City Road No. 180), Eun Hill (National Road No. 43), Hyeonan 1 District (Pungsan-dong 631), and Deokpung Park Road as vulnerable sections for snow removal, and has placed snow removal equipment and materials such as brine spraying facilities, eco-friendly snow melting agents, sandbags, and snow removal boxes.
Additionally, heavily trafficked areas such as Seo Hanam IC, Cheonho-daero~Hanam-daero, Olympic-daero~Misa-daero, Gam-il Wirye Jungang-ro~Wirye-daero are being managed intensively.
Furthermore, village snow removal teams have been organized centered on 14 Dongs and neighborhood leaders, with designated responsibility areas for each Dong, and a cooperative system has been established with private organizations such as the Hanam City Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps. A snow removal measure encouraging citizens to voluntarily participate by promoting the clearing of snow in front of their homes and stores has also been established.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae emphasized, “We have established a prevention-focused snow removal plan and conducted drills to build a system that can respond quickly even to unexpected heavy snowfall. Hanam City will make every effort to protect the lives and property of citizens through pothole inspections and other measures even after snowfall.”
