The city received a total of 25 cases through an internal contest in August to select excellent public officials in active administration who contributed to improving the quality of administrative services, convenience of citizens' lives, and development of the local community. Afterwards, the city explained that the outstanding public official cases were selected and awarded through public online evaluation and the resolution of the Pyeongtaek City Active Administration Committee.
The Grand Prize was awarded to the Transportation Administration Division, which contributed to alleviating congestion by increasing the speed limit on National Road No. 1. Along with this, ▲ establishment of an automobile blocking system along major rivers ▲ reduction of electricity bills through changing streetlight contract power ▲ installation of a roundabout at Jaeraengi Hill were also selected as excellent cases.
The city plans to provide various benefits according to the grade to the selected excellent public officials in active administration. Mayor Jeong Jang-seon of Pyeongtaek said, "To provide better administrative services to citizens, we will continue to strengthen the culture of active administration within the public service and enhance employees' innovative capabilities through various support and education."
