The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dongmyung University (Department Head Yeon Hyemin) participated with a total of 10 students from 2 teams in the 'University Student Contest Children's Literature Education Materials Exhibition' held at the 2024 Korean Children's Literature Education Society Fall Academic Conference on November 16, winning awards for the second consecutive year following 2023.

Students Kim Siyeon, Kim Yejin, Kim Taeyeon, Im Gayoung, and Jung Woojung were awarded the Excellence in Creative Work Award for their piece titled "Welcome to Dada Uncle's Bakery!" Meanwhile, students Kim Kyunghee, Moon Boyoung, Lee Seoeun, Im Gayoung, Cheon Haerin, and Choi Sujin received the same award for their work "Who Will Get on the Elevator?"
The students submitted original picture books created in the specialized course Early Childhood Culture and Arts Education (guided by Professor Yeon Hyemin) and received awards.
The Korean Children's Literature Education Society, founded in 1995, is a nationwide academic society specializing in the field of children's literature education.
The Department of Early Childhood Education at Dongmyung University operates various specialized courses beyond the kindergarten and daycare teacher certification programs to cultivate creative teachers with practical expertise based on character education.
